Who this is for
This is for people in and around Rapid City who want a coach standing next to them. Some of my clients have never touched a barbell and want to learn properly before they get hurt. Others have been training for years, have hit a wall, and need someone to watch the lift and tell them the truth about it.
It also suits people who already know they won't do it alone. If your history is buying a gym membership in January and stopping in February, a booked session with a coach who is waiting for you solves a problem no app has ever solved.
If you're outside the Rapid City area — or you'd rather train on your own schedule — my online personal training covers the same coaching nationwide.
How in-person coaching works
1. A free 30-minute call. We talk through your goal, your training history, injuries, your schedule, and what has failed before and why. That last one matters most, because it tells me which mistakes not to repeat.
2. Your program gets built. Written for your experience level, your gym's equipment, and the number of days you can genuinely train — not a template with your name typed at the top.
3. We train together at your gym. 60-minute sessions, one-on-one. I coach the technique in real time, load the lifts appropriately, and keep the intensity honest without wrecking you.
4. We track and adjust. Monthly measurements and body composition checks, session notes so you can see progress in writing, and program changes based on what's actually happening rather than a calendar.
What every plan includes
In person or online?
In-person wins on technique. If you're learning to squat, deadlift, or press, having someone watching from the right angle and cueing you mid-set is worth a lot, and it's the fastest way to train hard without picking up an injury. It also wins on pure accountability: a session in your calendar with a person waiting is very hard to talk yourself out of.
Online wins on coverage and cost. Eight hours of in-person training a month leaves the other 700 hours — your food, your sleep, your steps — uncoached unless we deliberately build that in. Online coaching at $300 a month covers all of it and travels with you.
Plenty of people combine them: sessions with me for the hard lifts, online coaching for the days I'm not there. We'll figure out which one fits on the call.

In-person training runs in 3-month blocks, billed monthly. That's deliberate. Twelve weeks is roughly how long it takes for real body composition change to show up honestly, and the people who quit in week five never get to see what they paid for. The block carries you through the stretch where most people fall off.
Every plan starts with a free 30-minute consultation, and I'll tell you on that call if I don't think in-person training is the right spend for you.
Results
I don't publish stock before-and-after photos or testimonials I wrote myself. Real, permissioned client stories go on the results page as clients agree to share them — and nowhere else. I've coached 40 people one-on-one and I'm honest about my credentials: my NASM CPT certification is in progress, not complete.
What I commit to for every in-person client:
FAQ
- Where do we train?
- At your gym here in Rapid City. If you don't have a membership yet, we'll talk through the local options on our call and pick one that fits your budget and your commute — the gym matters far less than the program and showing up.
- How much does a personal trainer in Rapid City cost?
- Sessions start at $369 per month for two sessions a week, which works out to about $46 per session. Three sessions a week is $549 per month and five is $779 per month. Billing is monthly, in 3-month blocks.
- Why a 3-month commitment?
- Because twelve weeks is roughly how long it takes for real body composition change to show up honestly, and the people who quit in week five never see what they paid for. The block keeps you in past the messy middle, which is exactly where progress gets made.
- How long is each session?
- 60 minutes, one-on-one. That's warm-up, the working sets that matter, and coaching on the lifts you're still learning — not an hour of filler.
- I've never lifted before. Is that a problem?
- It's the easiest place to start, because we build your technique correctly the first time instead of unpicking years of habits. We start with movements you can control and add load as your form holds.
- Do you cover nutrition too?
- Yes. You get calorie and protein targets built around what you already eat, plus a plan for restaurants, travel, and weekends. Coaching is fitness and nutrition guidance, not medical advice.
- Can I do in-person and online together?
- Some clients train with me in person and use online coaching for the days we don't meet. We can talk through what makes sense on your consultation call.
- What if I travel or get sick during a block?
- Tell me and we adjust. Sessions get rescheduled within the block where the calendar allows, and I'll send you something you can run on your own when you're away.
